Cause of fire and the level of the damage to Durham Street building, businesses stays unidentified
Sudbury firemens fought a downtown fire Wednesday afternoon however since 4:30 p.m. it had yet to be identified how the blaze started or the complete level of the damage.
The older four-storey building on Durham at the corner of Larch Street has actually belonged to the downtown landscape in Sudbury for years.

“I simply hurried home from work. I got word that the building was on fire,” said homeowner Nick Vardon.
His most instant concern was his dog, Stark, a 75-pound husky shepherd mix that stood anxiously on the window on the 2nd flooring.

Vardon informed a law enforcement officer on the street, punctuating to the dog in the window. The law enforcement officer then informed a firemen.

Within minutes numerous firemens strolled over with an extension ladder.
Two of the firemens, Jeff Wicklander and Wade Bretschneider, rose. Fire captain Jim Bergeron remained at the bottom of the ladder to constant it.

He then climbed up into the smokey apartment or condo and obtained the scared animal, which he then went through the window into the waiting arms of firemen Wicklander.
