Jennifer McBride is taking legal action against the “Paparazzi” vocalist for not offering her a $500,000 benefit that she guaranteed to provide to whoever returned her dogs, with “no questions asked”.
But McBride was among 5 individuals who were apprehended and charged over the theft of Gaga’s dogs. She was allegedly found to be an accessory after the initial crimeaccording to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer was shot 4 times in the chest throughout the break-in, which was performed by James Howard Jackson and Jaylin White in 2021. Fischer recuperated from his injuries.
Jackson was sentenced to 21 years in prisonwhile White was sentenced to 4 years. Both took plea offers.
Following the occurrence, Gaga offered a $500,000 “no questions asked” reward for the return of the dogs, Koji and Gustavo.
The LAPD said at the time that McBride “reported that she found the dogs and responded to the reward email to return the dogs” and “ultimately brought the dogs to LAPD Olympic Station” 2 days after they were taken.
According to TMZMcBride is now taking legal action against the “Bad Romance” vocalist for stopping working to pay the benefit money in spite of the LAPD validating she remained in a relationship with White’s dad.
McBride pled no contest to the charge of getting taken property and was sentenced to 2 years probation.
The publication reported that McBride desires the court to “triple” the damages to $1.5m and declared that Gaga published a “misleading reward”.
LA county deputy district lawyer Michele Hanisee informed TMZ that McBride was “more than aware” that the dogs she got were taken which she returned them with the expectation that she would get the benefit.
