A cockapoo collapsed and wanted 4 hours of surgical procedure after being attacked by an Alsatian in Godmanchester. Nala’s seventh birthday on Thursday (March 7) was celebrated with a visit to the vets, after she endured an aggressive attack on Wednesday.
Sophie Hurst, Nala’s proprietor, described how the Alsatian ‘lunged’ at her canine’s facet whereas they had been walking close to Judith’s Field at round 3.30pm, ‘biting through her fur, skin and muscle’.
She defined: “As I approached the sphere, there was a woman standing with a big Alsatian on an extended coaching lead. However, the lead was so slack that the canine had a large circumference wherein to run round her.

“I began walking across the fringe of the sphere, my canine barely in entrance of me. Nala was sniffing across the building, minding her personal business.
“Out of the blue, the Alsatian sprinted in the direction of her and lunged at her proper facet, biting her by means of her fur, pores and skin and muscle, and inflicting vital harm and blood loss.
“Nala whimpered and staggered earlier than collapsing. Luckily, I used to be shut by and scooped her up.
“The lady was trying to pull her dog back but it was still baring its teeth.”
Sophie rushed her canine to the vets, the place Nala spent 4 hours having surgical procedure. According to Sophie, the proprietor of the alsatian simply stated: “It’s never done that before, sorry,” and made no effort to examine on the injured canine.
Sophie continued: “I dread to consider the end result if a smaller canine was attacked. It would have been deadly.
“Nala turned seven yesterday – this was not the nicest birthday gift!”
