A Perth man is cautioning animal owners to be alert after a tried dog-nabbing event in broad daytime today.
Police were contacted us to hunt for a pedigree dog that was drawn from inside a vehicle parked outside the ScotMid Co-op parking area in the Western Edge location of the city.
Shocked owner Kenny Johnston, 63, had actually nipped into the shop and, when he returned, there was no indication of his two-year-old Fox Red Labrador. Kenny revealed he entered into the store on West Mains Avenue at 5.05pm on Tuesday.
He left his car opened as, from experience, he understood the dog within would set the alarm off if he had actually clicked the lock. The dog was using a harness, clipped to the safety belt.

“My wife was totally horrified. She works out of town and came straight back as soon as I told her what had happened. Luckily our big boy was too tough and managed to get away. He knows where he lives and ran back. It’s really concerning that someone would do this.”
Mr Johnston informed the PA that policeman mean to ask close-by houses if there might be doorbell cam video footage of the ScotMid Co-op parking area.
