Cases of the deadly virus were detected near Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.
The bird population in the region has been seriously impacted by the disease, with farms hit hard.
It is the seventh large-scale outbreak of bird flu in the northeast, as reported by AberdeenLive.
David Duguid, Conservative MP for Banff and Buchan, branded the situation “extremely worrying”.
Mr Duguid held a meeting last month with Scotland’s chief veterinary officer amid growing concerns over the high number of cases in the area.
He said: “It’s extremely worrying to hear of another avian flu outbreak in Aberdeenshire during such a turbulent time for the industry.
“This is now the seventh large scale case in Banff and Buchan and highlights this deadly disease isn’t going away.”
Mr Duguid added: “It’s therefore imperative the Scottish Government considers all options to safeguard our area against further outbreaks.”
In a letter to Mr Duiguid, Mairi Gougeon – cabinet secretary for rural affairs and islands – said: “The most important message to all keepers, regardless of whether they keep a backyard flock, or run a large commercial enterprise, is that the biosecurity measures laid out in the Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) are not only mandatory, but are the best way of protecting flocks and, indeed, in maintaining food supplies this winter.”
Measures aimed at preventing outbreaks include cleansing and disinfection of equipment, vehicles and footwear to help prevent the virus spreading between premises or around premises where birds are kept.
Last month we told how an urgent warning was issued to dog walkers and parents after 12 swans died from bird flu at a Glasgow park.
