I do have quite an affinity for XPG products because of where they fit themselves into the gaming market. Affordable products that look good, feel good, and perform well. Up to this point, I have not reviewed an XPG product I have not liked, or thought was built poorly. XPG just stays in its lane and remains to be a success because of it.
Exoskeleton design language translates into the way they lay out their triangle shapes over the outer casing. Its main function is to cut weight allowing the Slingshot to reach a mere 73g which is a very respectable number in the market today. It also gives the mouse a unique lighting effect that gives off high-tech server room vibes. Its case isn’t all one piece on the bottom side, so it does not have the solid feel that some mice do that is one piece. This isn’t a game changer but you can notice a difference when squeezing the case.
This mouse feels great on your hands, and it performs as well as it feels. Statistically, it’s in a solid place at a 1000 Hz polling rate, 50g Max Acceleration, at 400 – 12000 DPI. If you have not heard of the Pixart PMW 3360 Optical Sensor know that it is used in many top-tier gaming mice because of how well it performs. I think everyone in the industry would agree right now that 100% PTFE Skates are the “go-to” for performance. The 6 button layout in combination with its lightweight and drag-resistant Cable put this mouse in the FPS or MOBA category.
You have customizable RGB lighting on the mouse wheel, on the frame in form the of the XPG logo, and also on the inside of the mouse due to its unique exoskeleton design. XPG Prime software allows you to fully adjust the lighting and your mouse gaming experience along with any other XGP products you have on board. It’s middle-of-the-road software compared to most on the market, but it will get the job done.
XPG engineers did an excellent job of putting this mouse package together. They stand by their product with a 2 Year Limited Warranty and test it up to 20 million clicks. Feel good about picking up this mouse for a couple of twenties as your latest addition to the battle station.
