Despite the difficult scenario, employees worked throughout the night to repair the leak within 12-13 hours after it was identified.
“The land where leakage was spotted is a low land and is in the shape of a sausage. It became very difficult for us to pump out the water as water was flowing back to the pipeline. Second, we had to be very careful that the drained-out water does not flood the farmers’ field adjacent to the pipeline. Once the water was drained out, we could start the restoration work,” said an employee on task.
The leak had actually happened around 26km from Renwal in a town called Tordy in the Tonk district.
Another employee declared that there was a big concentration of rocks in the pipes, and they needed to release pro-cranes to eliminate the rocks. “Now, these cranes are huge. You need to carry them on trailers. It was a challenge for us to bring the trailer to the spot through the village road,” an authorities included.
To include on the issue, employees at the website discovered a snake on the wee hours of the day. Apparently, the snake appeared to be harmful, and employees needed to thoroughly repel the snake from the website.
“In all it was a tough and challenging job. Thank god that we managed to restore the problem within 13 hours and supply could be restored soon after,” another employee signed off.
