MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Several animals died and some were rescued after a garage fire at a residence on Banks Street in Murfreesboro.
Rutherford County Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene on Monday, May 15 around 11:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, teams saw heavy smoke originating from the removed garage location of the home. RCFR worked together with the Almaville Volunteer Fire Department to rapidly put out the flames.
After the fire was snuffed out, teams found that several animals consisting of snakes and chickens were inside the garage. Multiple animals passed away in the flames.
The owner of the home assisted firemens catch and get rid of the staying animals to a safe location.
An examination performed by the Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office ruled the fire to be unintentional.
