The late Dr. Duane Gish, known as “creation’s bulldog,” was the world’s most renowned creationist debater of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. He debated hundreds of evolutionists and led what we at Answers in Genesis call the “Creationist Debate Era.” He also wrote the first major creationist dinosaur book for children (Dinosaurs, Those Terrible Lizards), which we used with our children in Australia. He was also known for his bestseller, Evolution: The Fossils Say No!

I worked under Dr. Gish and Dr. Henry Morris, another creation pioneer well-known for his coauthored book with Dr. John Whitcomb, The Genesis Flood (which we just released an “update” to), at the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) from 1987 to 1993. During that time, our family developed a great friendship with Duane and his wife. Dr. Gish and his legacy live on through his impact on creation apologetics ministries around the world like AiG.

So, I was thrilled last month to have Duane’s son, Darrell, and his wife, Alison, visit with me at the Creation Museum.

It was a real “walk down memory lane” to remember such great men of God. There’s no doubt today’s biblical creationists stand on the shoulders of men like Dr. Gish and Dr. Henry Morris.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
