XL Bully canine attack on boy leaves police officer traumatised as he ‘thinks of chaotic scene most days’

A police officer who responded to an XL Bully attack on a 10-year-old boy has stated there are “not many days” when he doesn’t take into consideration what he noticed.

Sergeant Ross Phillips of Gwent Police responded to the incident along with his colleague Sergeant Isabelle Coulson.

“It was a really chaotic scene to say the least,” Sergeant Phillips informed Sky News.

“It was unclear precisely what was occurring at that time. It rapidly grew to become obvious that the young lad, Jack Lis, was nonetheless contained in the premises and the canine was additionally inside with him.

“So it was only a query of clearly managing that scene, getting Jack out of the home, and securing the canine earlier than it may get to another members of the general public.”

The officers labored along with Sergeant Coulson distracting the canine by “knocking on the window” as Sergeant Phillips to retrieved Jack from the home.

Despite being transferred to paramedics, Jack sadly died on the scene.

Sergeant Phillips stated the incident “undoubtedly stands out” in his 20-year profession.

“It’s simply actually unhappy for Jack’s mom, and the remainder of his household,” he stated.

Both Sergeant Phillips and Sergeant Coulson have now been nominated for a St David Award within the bravery class.

Sergeant Phillips stated he’s “very grateful” to have been nominated, however added: “I do not think about it a very courageous factor, simply doing all of your job.”
