A girl in her 20s has been taken to hospital and a person arrested after a suspected XL bully canine attack.
Lancashire Police stated the girl wanted treating for a canine chunk to her hand following the attack in central Blackpool on Monday afternoon.
Armed officers arrested a person in his 40s at a home in Havelock Street on suspicion of getting a canine dangerously uncontrolled. He stays in custody.
A spokesman stated a canine, “suspected to be an XL Bully kind”, was seized.
He added the girl was taken to hospital for remedy to a canine chunk harm to her hand.
Ownership of American XL bully dogs is restricted below the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
Since 31 December 2023, it has been towards the regulation to promote, give away, abandon or breed from an XL bully.
Since 1 February 2024, it has been a legal offence to personal an XL bully with out an exemption certificates.
