(ANSA) – ROME, APR 29 – Inter defender Denzel Dumfries on
Monday apologised for waving a banner he took from a fan
exhibiting AC Milan rival Theo Hernandez’s face on a canine led on a
leash throughout Sunday’s’ Milan parade celebrating the Nerazzurri’s
latest and twentieth scudetto.
The Italian soccer federation (FIGC) prosecutor has opned a
probe into Dumfries presumably bringing the sport into disrepute.
“During the parade, I held up a banner that confirmed an
inappropriate picture,” stated Dumfries.
“I’m a participant who loves rivalry in soccer, it’s a essential
a part of each sport.
“I realise that holding up the banner was an error of judgement
on my half and completely unintelligent.
“Now let’s deal with what has been probably the most unbelievable season for
Inter”. (ANSA).
