RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Washoe County is releasing extra data after a canine was shot and killed at Rancho San Rafael Park on Sunday.
Shortly after 1:00 p.m. Sunday, the Washoe County Regional Animal Services obtained a name to help the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Reno Police Department on the off-leash space of the park.
The proprietor of a small, Shih tzu kind canine had his canine within the off-leash space of the park when it obtained right into a struggle with one other canine, a Rottweiler kind canine on a leash being walked by its proprietor.
The proprietor of the Shih tzu says he tried to interrupt up the struggle and was bitten by the Rottweiler as he did so. The struggle was unsuccessfully damaged up, and the proprietor of the Shih tzu shot the Rottweiler 4 instances with a Glock 26, in line with the county. The Rottweiler was deceased upon the arrival of Animal Services.
The Shih tzu was alive however injured on the time of the incident. The Shih tzu was handled and was described as steady as of Monday.
Washoe County says that, based mostly on the knowledge they’ve, it doesn’t seem there’s enough proof to cost both occasion with any animal-related offenses. However, they do say that prices might be revisited if extra data arises.
