Vidalia man arrested after taking pictures canine amid household dispute

VIDALIA, La. — A Vidalia man was arrested Monday afternoon when he allegedly shot a canine throughout an argument with a member of the family, authorities mentioned.
Charles Marvin Morehead, 53, of Vidalia, was booked into the Concordia Parish Jail on Monday with prices of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated cruelty to animals and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Director Brandy Spears mentioned in accordance with experiences, Morehead was in an argument with a member of the family at his residence and threatened to shoot the canine if the member of the family didn’t depart the home.
“The family member was gathering their things inside when they heard a gunshot fired,” and later discovered the canine had been shot, she mentioned.
The canine was nonetheless alive when the deputy arrived on the scene at roughly 1:30 p.m. Monday. However, the situation of the canine as of Tuesday afternoon is unknown, Spears mentioned.
