A sausage canine has given start to what her proprietor believes could possibly be a “world record” litter of 11 puppies.
Three-year-old Winnie bore the large brood at her home, close to Leicester, final month.
Another dachshund, named Cheesecake, gave start to 10 puppies in September 2021 – which made headline information.
But Winnie has now crushed that quantity and proprietor Rayma Jones, 23, thinks it’s a world record.
“I was amazed. I just kept counting them over and over,” she mentioned.
“She’s such a great mum. I’m overwhelmed that she could have had a world record number of puppies.”
It’s understood Guinness World Records doesn’t hold data for individual canine breeds, however the largest litter of puppies ever is 24, birthed by a Neapolitan mastiff.
The common variety of puppies in a dachshund litter is between one and 6, which is why Rayma believes Winnie might now maintain the document.
