We’ve been following the story of a regional training dog combating cancer and dealing with products on his pail list.

Theo got to inspect a huge experience off his list thanks to a News 13 audience in Old Fort.

Sherry Hensley saw Theo’s story back in April. She connected through Facebook right away to provide that boat trip on Theo’s pail list.

COMMUNITY CONTINUES COMING TOGETHER TO CROSS OFF ITEMS ON BELOVED DOG’S ‘BUCKET LIST’

In her message she said that years ago she was walking her dog when another dog assaulted them both. That dog appeared like Theo and she ended up being afraid of all dogs like him up until her child brought home a pit bull.

Sherry said that pit bull “ended up being the pleasure of our life. He died from cancer, so Theo’s entire story simply touched my heart. I did this in honor of Hoss, in his memory.”

On boat trip day, Theo pulled his mama, Mars Hill animal behaviorist, Trish McMillan, down the dock in a rush. He could not wait to satisfy Sherry and her other half Larry. His tail wagged like insane as they reached over the side of the boat to hug him.

Sherry connected a Captain’s bandanna around his neck, while Theo provided her kisses. She placed on his little skipper’s hat and the team was all set for a cruise around Lake James.

Trish said Theo liked every minute — his nose up in the air smelling all the smells the entire time. She said he didn’t wish to remain down in his bed in the back of the boat. He rapidly went up to the bow sitting in between Sherry and Trish for the remainder of the trip.

As they drew back into the dock, Trish yelped out that “you’d believe Theo had actually been on a boat every day of his entire life!” He leapt off the boat, held the Sharpee in his mouth, then Trish assisted him cross “Boat Ride” off his list.

SEVERAL GOALS ALREADY CROSSED OFF OF PIT BULL’S BUCKET LIST THANKS TO COMMUNITY’S KINDNESS

There is another product on that list. Trish and Theo wish to alter hearts and minds. They understand many individuals are terrified of dogs and terrified of dogs who appear like Theo. They hope his story and his sweet behavior on television these previous number of months demonstrates how fantastic these dogs can be.

If you want to satisfy him, get a good hug and make a brand-new fur friend, get in touch with them on Theo’s Facebook page HERE.
