MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – An investigation within the Vollintine-Evergreen neighborhood took a flip Tuesday afternoon when a Memphis police officer shot a canine in self-defense, police say.
At 3 p.m., officers have been within the space of University Street close to Vollintine Avenue for an “ongoing investigation” when a canine reportedly charged at an officer and was shot.
Police say the officer was unhurt, and the canine is now being handled by a personal veterinarian.
Memphis police additionally recovered a stolen automobile whereas on the scene. It’s unclear presently if that automobile was on the heart of the investigation.
Officers say no expenses have been filed presently.
