An animal neglect investigation in La Pine has led to the seizure of 37 dogs, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) mentioned Wednesday. A La Pine girl is going through a number of animal neglect and abandonment expenses.
DCSO mentioned it has responded to quite a few animal complaints within the 52000 block of Wayside Loop in La Pine. The calls included these for dogs at giant, noise complaints, dogs residing in unsafe situations and a number of other canine bites. One of the bites allegedly concerned a deputy who was making an attempt to arrest somebody at a property.
On Dec. 21, deputies responded to the property for a criticism of dogs at giant. DCSO mentioned they discovered an elderly home-owner was residing with 14 whole dogs after the dogs had been deserted. The dogs included adults and puppies.

DCSO mentioned the dogs had been left with no meals, no clear water, residing principally outside in dangerous climate. Many of the dogs had been extremely aggressive and had not been vaccinated or licensed. Eleven of the dogs had been taken to the Humane Society of Central Oregon.
The elderly male home-owner allegedly mentioned that he not solely was unable to look after the dogs, he had not agreed to take action.
Then on Dec. 29, DCSO mentioned it contacted Dessie C. McIntire, 48, in La Pine and mentioned she was discovered to have one other 20 dogs on the property, residing in poor situations. DCSO mentioned McIntire surrendered the dogs, which had been transported to Brightside Animal Hospital in Redmond.
In whole 37 dogs had been in McIntire’s possession, and all have been taken to space animal shelters, DCSO mentioned.
McIntire was cited and launched on three counts of of 2nd diploma animal neglect, 29 counts of animal abandonment and 13 counts of unlicensed dogs.
