A Katy canine that was allegedly crushed by its proprietor with a weight was rescued by Waller County officers and the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, in accordance with an Oct. 25 information launch from the Houston SPCA.
The rescue organization maintained the proprietor was captured on video repeatedly hitting the emaciated Belgian Malinois whereas it cried out on the 400 block of Aurora Creek. The animal welfare organization labored alongside Waller County authorities to rescue the canine.
“If you can safely obtain photos or video to report animal cruelty, it can be very useful against those who commit these crimes in public view,” Houston SPCA Chief Cruelty Investigator Jay Chase is quoted within the information launch as saying. “A life may be saved simply by reporting animal cruelty.”

The canine is now receiving veterinary care from the Houston SPCA, in accordance with the information launch.
