A Dublin household has been left “traumatised and heartbroken” after their beloved canine died following an attack by a pit bull yesterday.

The incident occurred at 6am on Monday morning within the Ronanstown space of Clondalkin. Speaking to Dublin Live, Megan Keating instructed us how her 72-year-old dad Patrick was on his means home after walking his three dogs on a inexperienced space once they encountered a pit bull.

“It was both a bully or pit bull. My dad’s beloved canine Gucci, a Yorkshire Terrier, was ripped to shreds whereas my dad had him on the lead.

“The greater canine latched onto Gucci’s neck and simply would not let him go. The attack lasted over half an hour, my dad was kicking this different canine making an attempt to get him to let go of Gucci.”

Patrick desperately tried to save lots of his beloved pet, however he grew to become so drained he needed to “lean towards the wall” to cease himself from collapsing as a result of the pit bull canine was so robust. Unfortunately, Gucci sadly died following the attack.
