A canine is assumed to have triggered a fireplace in a North Yorkshire village home.
Two hearth crews have been known as to the incident at Thirlby close to Thirsk at 4pm final evening (Monday).
They have been responding to reviews of a hob on hearth.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson stated: “The hearth concerned a canine lead which had been left on the hob and it’s thought the canine had by accident switched the hob on.
“This then unfold to the kettle and extractor fan.
“The fire was out upon our arrival and the crew inspected and ventilated the premises. The fire caused only minimal damage to items mentioned and the crew used a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate.”
