A couple of months earlier, when Andrea Fito and her family embraced a puppy called Coco, it came as rather a surprise to their cat, Horus.

After spending his life as the home’s only family pet, Horus all of a sudden discovered himself in the business of a bubbly, bouncy dog. He didn’t be reluctant to assert his feline supremacy.

“From day one, Horus would look for Coco to play tricks on her,” Fito informed The Dodo.

Horus ended up being a little bit of a bully.

As Coco grew, she started to much better hold her own versus the cat’s baseless antagonism. And quickly they settled into a lukewarm war of sorts, fighting out their little conflicts with rowdy bouts of roughhousing.

“They are always looking for each other to have a play-fight,” Fito said.

But then the unimaginable taken place — Coco fell ill.

One day, Coco started displaying indications of distress. She wasn’t able to keep down any food or water. So, Fito hurried her to the veterinarian.

Coco was detected with parvo — a possibly fatal infection in dogs for which Coco had actually not yet been immunized. “She was more alive than dead,” Fito said.

Fortunately, the illness was captured early enough to be effectively dealt with.

But on the roadway to healing at home, Coco discovered a not likely source of convenience: Horus the bully.

“He really surprised me. This wasn’t his typical behavior at all,” Fito said. “He went from always fighting to understanding that Coco was very sick.”

The cat and dog had actually put their seeming distinctions aside to share in a tender minute. It ended up being clear to Fito then that they shared a caring bond underneath what typically appears like dispute.

“Horus was sad that Coco was sick,” Fito said.

Deep down, Horus wasn’t truly much of a bully after all.

Thanks to the love and care she received from Horus and her family, Coco had the ability to make a complete healing. And with that, she and Horus got right where they’d ended.

“Coco is healthy, fat, happy and fighting again with Horus,” Fito said, keeping in mind that, regardless of the go back to their typical regular, she now takes a look at her animals’ relationship a little in a different way. “I haven’t seen that same affection between them since then, but I know if something were to happen again, Horus would go right back to it.”
