OREO’S ESCAPE

The occurrence started when Miller ran out town and had actually left Oreo to be seen by friend and colleague Teah Webster.

The opening night passed without any sightings, and Miller got just 20 minutes of sleep as individuals kept searching.

There were 2 sightings in the next 2 days that promised for Oreo’s return, however it wasn’t up until the 4th day that Miller got a call about a 3rd and last sighting.

Miller rapidly got together with her friend, Jennifer Bollman, to consult with fire department agents who assisted confine him.

“When I yelled his name, he just looked at me and kept running,” Miller said. “The animal control officer informed me for the last 4 days everybody’s been calling his name and he’s not going to concern me any longer. Like he does not even acknowledge your voice, the only thing you started for you is your fragrance.

“I was waving one of his toys and Jennifer (Bollman) was throwing his food like crazy to get him to come to us,” she said. “I could tell he probably smelled something because of the toy I was waving in the air, and then all of a sudden he full-on sprinted toward me and did that whiny cry, and we had this really big reunion moment that we had been envisioning for the last three days.”

After almost 4 complete days on the run, Oreo was wet, cold and stinky, according to Miller, however mostly tired and happy to be reunited with his family.

Oreo got a number of warm baths and great deals of love upon his return home, and Miller had the ability to share the news of his rescue with all of the neighborhood members who assisted her throughout the frightening time.

Miller said she thinks Oreo has actually found out a huge lesson from his experience.

“He was just so exhausted that he just leaned on me and let me bathe him when we got home,” Miller said. “After that, he slept for about 2 days directly, and he is certainly more mellow and is with me anywhere I go.
