A WOMAN who has pleaded guilty to owning a fighting dog will face a trial in front of a District Judge for a dangerous dog charge.

Kayleigh Gamble, 35, of Tichborne Road, Bradford, appeared in Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

She reaffirmed her not guilty plea to a charge of being the owner or person in charge of dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

But Gamble has already pleaded guilty to possessing or having custody of a fighting dog, as part of the case.

That is, she had a Pit Bull Terrier in her possession or custody in Shipley on November 19, 2021.

The other charge relates to October 10, 2021.

It is alleged Gamble was the owner of a Pit Bull which was dangerously out of control in West Royd Drive, in Shipley and injured another woman.

The prosecution applied for the case to be adjourned so initial legal arguments can be resolved.

Shannon Woodley, defending Gamble, agreed with the application but said the case “cannot be adjourned again at all.”

She added the continuous adjournments has had an “adverse effect” on Gambles mental health and she “wants some finality”.

The case was adjourned for trial in front of a District Judge at the same court on April 11.
