There are so many issues that signify the vacations in Maine. Tree lighting ceremonies in downtowns. The jingle of Salvation Army bell ringers exterior large shops. Santa arriving by truck, or boat, or extra particularly by lobster boat. Sometimes even a helicopter. Big runs on ham and turkey and lamb at Hannaford. Your mother’s peanut butter balls, or rum balls, or Chex Mix, or fruitcake, or different seasonal goodie.
But there’s one factor that’s so distinctive to Maine, so completely symbolic of Christmas or Hanukkah or no matter manner you select to have fun the season, so adorably festive, that listening to it brings again a flood of recollections. I’m speaking in regards to the Bangor Savings Bank Christmas kitten business, that includes two little grey tiger cats destroying in essentially the most pleasant manner attainable all these presents it took hours to wrap, and knocking over Santa’s cookies and milk. Also referred to as the best business ever made.
