CHICAGO (CBS) — Sarah Bohan ran her first Chicago Marathon Sunday and did it for Team PAWS Chicago. The Boston resident was on her approach to a private report till mile 21, when she noticed a scared kitten apparently in want of some TLC.
Bohan mentioned after it turned clear that no one else was going to assist, she stopped her race, together with one other runner.
“It needed to be all of 1 pound,” she mentioned. “Fur was matted and one thing clicked, and I used to be like, ‘This is extra vital.’ And I bear in mind i the again of my thoughts being like, ‘Your PR goes to exit the window. You aren’t going to make it.’ And it was simply an intuition. It was human intuition.”
Unsure of what to do with the kitten, Bohan mentioned she walked a couple of mile with it in her arms till she discovered a spectator alongside the route who agreed to take the kitten in and provides it a home.
Bohan, who owns two cats of her personal, mentioned despite the fact that she did not PR, she completed the race in 3 hours and 31 minutes and 13 seconds.
