Five years in the past, an Oklahoma daughter instructed her mother a stray canine was attacking kittens exterior their home, in response to federal authorities.
Amanda Myrene Fields Moffett responded by stepping onto her entrance porch with a handgun and capturing what she thought was the stray canine, authorities mentioned. But she had accidentally shot her daughter, prosecutors mentioned.
“When I discharged the firearm, it was dark outside and I knew (she) was outside of my home trying to save the kittens from the dog,” Moffett, 43, mentioned in her signed plea settlement. “I did not verify that (she) was not in my line of fire when I discharged the handgun.”
