Hamilton County, Ohiodog wardens reacted on Jan. 28 to reports of a “leopard” being identified in a tree in Oakley, a Cincinnati area.
When they showed up on the scene, teams recovered an unique cat – now called Amiry – from the tree and brought it to Cincinnati Animal CARE.
Their preliminary idea was the cat was a hybrid F1 Savannah, which is legal to own in Ohio. However, after support from a huge cat professional, authorities said they were quite particular Amiry was a serval, which is unlawful.
A medical group analyzed Amiry, took a sample for a DNA test and checked him for narcotics.
