Horrific minute ‘vicious’ grandma attempts to eliminate her animal kitten with a brick after trapping the animal in a wheelie bin – prior to preventing prison for the ‘despicable’ criminal activity
- CAUTION DISTRESSING MATERIAL
- Pamela Mattinson declared she had actually been attempting to ‘put it out of its suffering’
Shocking footage has emerged of a ‘sadistic’ grandmother trying to kill her pet kitten with a brick after she trapped it in a wheelie bin
Pamela Mattinson, 48, was filmed hurling the block into her neighbour’s bin at least four times as she tried to kill the terrified animal.
After each impact, Mattinson, dressed all in pink, was captured staring into the bin to examine the state of the screeching cat.
She was confronted by a neighbour before fleeing the scene. She was later arrested after retrieving the cat and making her way to a vet.
Mattinson, who has avoided jail for the ‘despicable’ assault, claimed she had been trying to ‘put it out of its misery’ after injuring the cat by accident.
But thankfully, the cat fully recovered, and Mattinson pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering and using threatening behaviour at Bolton Crown Court.

Judge Nicholas Clarke labelled her actions a ‘despicable crime’ when sentencing her to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and 180 hours of unpaid work.
He said: ‘In my role as a judge I have to deal, unfortunately, with a lot of cases where people are cruel or negligent to an animal.
‘In this case, as depicted in the video, you were not cruel nor negligent to an animal. You were trying to kill the cat.
‘The nature of the attack, as depicted in the video, was of a most despicable crime.’
Mattinson, from Bolton in Greater Manchester, launched the attack on March 2 this year.
Edmund Potts, prosecuting said: ‘[The neighbour] was at home when he heard a banging.
‘He went to the window and he saw Ms Mattinson in his back garden. Ms Mattinson was picking up a brick and throwing it into the wheelie bin.’
Mattinson later threatened to put through it the neighbour’s window when he confronted her.
Mattinson was given eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and banned from keeping animals for ten years
Mattison was also ordered to carry out 20 days of rehabilitation activities for the attack on the cat
In mitigation, Colin Buckle said Mattinson, who admitted that she had been drinking vodka prior to the incident, struggled with her alcoholism and her mental health.
He suggested she was attempting to kill the cat ‘to put it out of its misery’ after she injured it by accident while trying to protect it from another cat.
Judge Clarke called Mattinson’s actions ‘sadistic’ but said he took into account that she was a ‘vulnerable’ individual during his sentencing remarks.
She was also banned from keeping animals for ten years and ordered to carry out 20 days of rehabilitation activities.
