CRANFORD, NJ — A Cranford man is dealing with several charges after cops state he positioned a dead cat in a local’s mail box in March, cops revealed on Monday, June 5.
After an almost three-month-long examination, Cranford Police Detectives determined Steven Elias, 28, of Cranford, and charged him with third-degree triggering far of illegal physical violence, harassment, and criminal trespass for putting the dead cat inside this mail box on March 12.

On March 13 at around 8:14 a.m., Cranford Police went to a Collins Street home on the report of a dead cat that was positioned inside a local’s mail box.
Surveillance video recorded somebody walking onto the victim’s property at around 11 p.m. on March 12 with a things in their hand thought to be the dead cat, said cops.

Elias was provided a summons pending a look in Union County Superior Court.
