MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) – A ribbon cutting and an event was held Friday early morning beyond Lakeland Union High School to honor the T-Bird Bridge.
The bridge was integrated in 1937 and functioned as the informal welcome to northern Wisconsin. It was gotten rid of in 2018 for highway enhancements.
Recently the renowned bridge came to its last location after being gotten rid of from its area over Highway 51 years previously. The bridge was put on 2 pillars outside the high school. The school’s mascot is the Thunderbirds.
The bridge’s renowned ‘T-Bird’ graffiti still embellishes the beam of the bridge.
Buddies of the T-Bird Bridge Committee charity event and worked to bring the bridge to high school.
