The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers (SINWP) have introduced the winners of the SINWP Bird Photographer of the Year 2023 in assist of RSPB competitors. The profitable entry was ‘Winter Fieldfare’ Gianpiero Ferrari from Leicestershire, England.

The award’s second place went to Robert Gloeckner from Florida, USA and third place was awarded to Kevin Rooney from Gloucestershire, England.

Now in its sixth yr, The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers are delighted to announce the winners of the SINWP Bird Photographer of the Year 2023 in assist of RSPB.

With over 1,750 pictures entered this competitors from across the globe. We have seen every little thing from bald eagles, owls, kingfishers, penguins, and every little thing in between, and the standard has been gorgeous.

The profitable entry by Gianpiero Ferrari from Leicestershire, England was of an apple munching fieldfare on a really snowy day, entitled ‘Winter Fieldfare’

The competitors was adjudicated by our three specialists Charles Farnell ARPS, Jon Ashton ARPS and Tracey Lund FSINWP. Mike McNamee chaired the proceedings.

Gianpiero tells us – “The shot is from my home backyard in Leicestershire, UK. After a snowfall in the course of the night time, a number of Fieldfare got here within the backyard to benefit from the apple that I supplied. This one was very aggressive and took over the complete backyard chasing away all the opposite birds. I began to take some photos from the home by way of a window, however I used to be not pleased with the composition. I assumed a floor degree composition would have been a lot better. 2nd place was awarded to Robert Gloeckner from Florida, USA and third place was awarded to Kevin Rooney from Gloucestershire, England.
