ST. CLOUD (WJON News) — For those of you keeping track, and potentially rooting for it, today is the day we will formally make this the snowiest season ever tape-recorded in the city of St. Cloud.
According to the St. Cloud State University Meteorology Department, we’re now as much as 87.8 inches of snow (since 6:00 a.m. Friday). We’ve seen some light snow through the early morning hours, which is anticipated to continue on and off throughout the day.
The all-time record is 87.9 inches of snow, so simply another tenth of an inch of snow is most likely.
We’re in fact in a Winter Weather Advisory up until 7:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Duluth broke its record for all-time snowfall at 137.1 inches. They’ve been contributing to that overall Friday.
If you snow enthusiasts are searching for a repeat of a great deal of snow next year, you may be out of luck. A Super El Nino is forecasted to begin later on this year and last into next winter season. In a normal El Nino, the Midwest has warmer than regular temperature levels and less than typical snowfall.
