Nadia Crighton from Pet Insurance Australia said the stats provide a ‘beautiful insight’ into the kinds of family pets Aussies are inviting to their households with a ‘fantastic’ mix of pure-bred and combined types.

She said it is essential for Australians wanting to adopt a family pet to investigate the various kinds of types and their compatibility to their way of life. 

The Border Collie was the 5th most popular breed while the Miniature Dachshund, Labradoodle, Labrador, German Shepherd and Maltese Cross were likewise in the leading 10
