Entries are now open for the gamekeepers’ classes at Crufts 2023.
The classes, which are hosted by BASC, are open to gamekeepers, owners of working gundogs, gundog groups and young handlers, and will be hung on Gundog Day, Thursday 9 March 2023, at the NEC in Birmingham. Postal entries close on 9 January 2023, and you can go into online till midnight 23 January 2023.
The gamekeepers’ classes are deeply rooted in the history of Crufts and BASC is happy to continue this strong custom.
The leading private pet dogs owned by gamekeepers will go head-to-head in the primary arena for the ‘Finest in Gamekeeping Class’ title, with the total winner existing with the distinguished Northesk Memorial Prize.
Glynn Evans, BASC’s head of video game and wildlife management, stated: “Crufts offers a window through which the larger world can see working pet dogs on an international phase. Crufts is the most significant dog program in the world and BASC’s rings at the occasion permit us to display how unique working pet dogs are to 10s of countless visitors.
” Whether you’re a routine rival at Crufts or a very first timer still thinking of participating, I would motivate anybody with a working gundog to go into the BASC gamekeepers’ classes. The occasion is a terrific celebration and a chance to commemorate the history of these fantastic animals whilst guaranteeing their future.”
