As the 2023 due date for entries looms, the RSPCA is contacting young southern professional photographers to send their images and display their abilities once again for the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards.
As this year’s awards judges brace themselves for another extreme evaluating session, the RSPCA is showcasing a few of the very best southern entries from the last couple of years.
Photographers still have up until completion these days to go into the distinguished awards, which is now commemorating its 33rd year.
Brooke Haycock, 15, from Uckfield, was applauded in the ages 12-15 classification in the 2022 awards for a spectacular photo of an owl.
Meanwhile 17-year-old Sophie Ritcherova, from Brighton, caught a breath-taking breeze of a reindeer while on vacation in Svalbard, Norway. Sophie won the Instagram award in 2019.
Award-winning wildlife professional photographer and Young Photographer Awards judge Emma Jacobs said: “There is a lot young skill in the South of England.
“Year after year we see such strong photos originating from our southern counties, so the concern is can southern children declare prominence as soon as again in our 2023 awards?
“We can’t wait to see this year’s entries, so if you are aged 18 and under, get your submission in fast prior to the due date passes.
“As the deadline looms, we’re proud to showcase some of the top photos we’ve had from southern youngsters over the years. They are all fantastic and highlight what the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards is all about.”
The judges will award prizes to winners in each classification in addition to crowning a total winner who will receive a weekend photography break with award-winning wildlife professional photographer Danny Green’s group at Natures Images.
Worth £675, this reward consists of 2 nights’ accommodation for the winner and a parent/guardian.
The winners will be revealed in December 2023, at an awards event hosted by television biologist Chris Packham at the Tower of London.
