NASHVILLE — The Vancouver Canucks picked Tom Willander with the No. 11 choice in the 2023 NHL draft Wednesday.
Willander, a six-foot-one, 180-pound defenceman, had 25 points (4 objectives, 21 helps) in 39 video games for Rogle BK’s under-20 group in Sweden.
The 18-year-old Swede matured a Canucks fan thanks to fellow citizens Daniel and Henrik Sedin.
Willander has actually dedicated to sign up with the NCAA’s Boston University as a freshman next season.
