  1. My female dog is marking, but we are pretty sure she is potty trained and she is for sure spayed. She never used to but now does it randomly in our house, and always does it at my in laws house (they have a female dog) and at places like petco.

She didn’t start doing this until a few months after we got her, and now we have a male dog and she’s doing it even more when she used to only do it in places with female dogs. Any help? We have been doing the “sit for anything you want” method but it doesn’t seem to be helping. We almost never catch her in the act either, she is so sneaky about it. She’s very smart but so stubborn and not great on the leash either. Would boarding her for a few weeks of training do any good? It goes without saying she was a stray and we got her from the shelter. She is otherwise very sweet and a good dog but we can’t take her anywhere because she pees anywhere she goes.

We will try crating her more often, but how long until she’s allowed to be out of her crate again?

  2. I have a make chahuahua. My daughter frequently visits with her female chahuahua. After the visit, my dog goes thru the house and marks his territory. How can I stop this behavior? Thanks

  3. In my case I brought a female puppy home and although they have come to really like each other, my male marks anywhere she has been or slept. I tried to separate their beds but even so he marks his bed (territory) to keep her out I assume. The dogs have to coexist somehow and he is relentless even though I have tried the techniques presented here.

  4. I have tried all of these options except for separating my dog from the area completely. My boyfriend is against adding more baby gates to out house, so I guess It is him I will have to deal with next. My dog is peeing in my office and had driven my cat away. It is time for a change.
