Hey! I just found your page and love your set up and cleaning routine. We have 5 guinea pigs of our own. I am curious if you have all girl guinea pigs or if you had your males neutered? We have three males and two females and a total of 3 separate cages.
As an owner of 5 young Abyssinians (mom, dad, 3 babies), first thing I think whenever I see all that fleece = sooo much laundry lol. I started off with paper shavings, works great for odor control. However, anytime I moved too quickly w/o making a gentle warning sound first, they hit the gas full throttle, sending paper chunks flying. They now have a giant fleece blanket and half of my bedroom floor (with C&C cage) as their new home lol. Also keep plastic garbage bags under the fleece to protect the carpet too. Any reason to use more than one blanket? The back corner I use the top half of their carrier cage with a fleece draped over it for their hidey home/sleep area. Only that spot has an additional blanket for them to sleep on.

I’ve realized this is like having a bunch of tiny, expensive livestock in your home. My sheep are of course naturally skittish, they poop absolutely everywhere, they eat a bunch of hay in the winter although I make them eat it down a lot and try not to waste a bunch. And they can be expensive at times. 😂
