The owner sought advice from a veterinarian one year ago concerning a direct development in the hamster’s ideal ear however the veterinarian did not encourage an treatment.

Over the previous one year, this development ends up being enormous. Another ear is likewise impacted. Both ears had inflamed abscesses.

Hospitalised for treatment. Hamster is extremely weak. The abscesses were lanced. The owner took the hamster back the next day for her individual nursing.

Ear developments can be excised when they are much smaller sized. Generally they begin as ear infections. Ear termites are uncommon in Singapore’s dwarf hamsters however this case looked quite like the canine sarcoptic mange or feline scabies. No termites can be discovered.

  1. My heart breaks for this sweet little angel. How could you let him live an entire year like this. Im surprised it has not killed him already. Please let us know what has happened to him.

  2. On a scale of 1 to 10 this had to be a 10. Total ignorant neglect. This had to be extremely painful for this little animal. What if your ears had swelled up to the size of a basketball on each side of your head. I can beat you would have been running to the doctors long before this type of abscess or tumor ever got this big. You thought this was just going to go away.  Please, I don't know the life span of this animal but I believe it is relatively short compared to humans and most likely was at the end of its expected life span after 26 months. I have to believe the Vet discussed the option of putting the animal down. Clearly the animal in it's state was cruel an pure torcher for the little animal. I just question why it took so long for you to finally come to the decision to get help in dealing with the animal. I would question if you should ever have a pet. If it was a monies issue which stopped you from taking the animal to the vet or ignorance. In ether case maybe you need not have a pet.
