Why we trim hair for cat?
If you wanted a hairless cat, that's what you should have gotten. Asserting your human convenience onto your cat is selfish. Cats' hair provides them with protection and warmth.

I don't go that short. But, for my baby himmy he gets super hot in the summer and I give him a nice trim. Just try not to do it so short. If you don't want to buzz them, try a shedding tool. Just be careful with their skin, it can hurt if you pull too roughly. Always take time to brush your long hairs. They get matted real easily.

People shouldn't be hating this so much. Sure, it's not aesthetically pleasing, but people do this all the time when it's hot outside. People don't get upset when it's done to dogs. Even if the owners did do it just because of the way it looked, the cat isn't hurt. It isn't suffering. So, there isn't a problem with this.
