Abyssinian Cat VS. BengalCat

What are the distinctions in between these 2 cat types?

A love of heights is a signal characteristic of the Abyssinian. He likes to be as high up as possible and will value having several ceiling-height cat trees.

The Bengal might never ever be called fragile. They’re professional athletes, nimble and elegant with a strong, muscular body, as befits a cat who appears they belong in the jungle. In spite of their wild look, Bengal felines are in fact rather caring with their human households. That stated, they likewise have high energy and a fun-loving, lively side.

The Aby is frequently stated to appear he had actually simply strolled right out of the wild. That’s since of his ticked coat pattern, which looks like that of wild felines such as cougars. A ticked coat has rotating light and dark bands of color on each hair shaft. Whatever about him recommends his vibrant, mindful nature. The Aby has actually a somewhat rounded wedge-shaped head topped with big, broad ears, the much better to hear you with. Big, almond-shaped eyes of gold or green express interest in whatever they see. On the face, dark lines might extend from the eyes and eyebrows.

The muscular body is elegant and athletic. It falls under a happy medium in between the stocky, or cobby, the body of a type such as the Persian, and the long, svelte body of the Asian types such as the Siamese. The body is supported by slim, fine-boned legs atop little, oval, compact paws. Abys are frequently stated to appear they are strolling on tip-toe. Swishing behind them is a long, tapering tail.

The Bengal might never ever be called fragile. He is a professional athlete: nimble and elegant with a strong, muscular body, as befits a cat who appears he belongs in the jungle. His broad head is a customized wedge shape, longer than it is broad, with rounded shapes. Atop it are medium-size to little ears that are reasonably brief, set towards the side of the head. Big oval eyes are nearly round. Signing up with the head to the body is a long, muscular neck. Supporting the body are medium-length legs, a little longer in the back than in the front, with big, round paws. A thick, medium-length tail tapers at the end and is tipped in black. When a Bengal rolls over, you can see that another particular is a spotted tummy.

Of all the cat types, the Abyssinian is possibly the one who lives life to the max. He climbs up greater, leaps further, plays harder. Absolutely nothing gets away the notification of this extremely smart and curious cat, a quality that makes life with him both constantly amusing and constantly difficult. Remaining an action ahead of an Aby, as the type is nicknamed, or perhaps simply equaling him, needs the expensive footwork of a Fred Astaire, the mental capacity of an Einstein, and a funny bone that never ever stops. You never ever understand what he’ll enter next, although you can presume that if you have something or are doing something, your Aby will wish to examine it carefully. Some individuals describe the felines as Aby-grabby since of their tendency for taking things that capture their interest.

Often it might appear as if the Aby never ever sleeps. He is ever in movement, leaping up in the window to take a look at birds or squirrels, jumping on top of the fridge to monitor meal preparation, setting down on your desk to see your fingers move over the keyboard, and after that swiping at them so you’ll take note of him rather. This is a lively, consistent cat who loves being the focal point and will do anything to accomplish and preserve that status.

The Aby enjoys to play, so intend on making or buying a range of toys to keep him inhabited. Ping-Pong balls, bottle caps, wadded-up notepads, puzzle toys, and teasers such as huge peacock plumes will all entertain this hectic and brainy cat. Teach him to obtain at your danger. As soon as you begin, he will not let you stop. He finds out techniques rapidly and lots of Abys take pleasure in running a feline dexterity course.

  1. my abyssinian is fearless not scared of any dogs they are friends and she very talkative.very social no matter who or what it is she wants to say hello. they are like the dogs of they cat world

  2. The Bengal is a killer . I’ve seen a Bengal climb a big tree and kill 2 chick wood pigeons then killed both parents. Injured them both and played with them for hours . I love cats but be prepared bengals are not normal house cats .

  3. Bengals have a VERY high Prey Drive and are not afraid of dogs or even lawn mowers! We received ours as a rescue, it had been declawed and was used to the outside. He could kill 5 or so mice/voles/moles/chipmunks/a day would heard my husband and the lawnmower and stare down the neighbors dog all before his nap on the top of the kids slide aka pride rock. Amazing creatures, but yes, they need stimulation and activity or they will become bored. This is not your all day snoozy cat.

  4. Thanks for the comparison! 💗 We are looking for two cat companions that are inquisitive and enjoy being taken outsidee on short hikes or cross country skiing hikes and thus would not mind the travel to our cabin or Airbnb etc. – two cats that would join us on our experiences rather than always staying at home and waiting for us there. Cat companions. Do you think Abyssinian or Bengal would be a better choice?
