Last case of 2013.
This cat was run by me numerous months ago to eliminate bladder stones. Today, he has loss of hair in both flanks, the tummy location and the tail. 2 bald areas on skin in between the shoulders. Yellow-white specks of 3 mm throughout are seen in his hair, a few of them moving. Are these fur termites the reason for loss of hair?
The tail loss of hair is typically due to anal sac impaction. There was some anal sac oil revealed however this cat was not happy with the expression.
No more grievances from the owner.

Never get a straight answer from anyone why cats lose hair in large patches from rear legs, sides, tummy and under the tail, even this video was not much of a help, I was eating KFC and watching this video when the vet squeesed something from his anal. ……….Oh man……
