Whether you’re traveling for business or for pleasure, many people put a lot of research into where they plan to stay. While amenities like a pool, gym, and complimentary breakfast are great, a man traveling to Colorado finds something you’d never want during a hotel stay!
A visitor to a hotel in the Denver region has reported seeing a snake trying to get into the room by climbing out of the toilet. “I walked past the bathroom and I looked and there was a snake coming out of the toilet,” says the guest, Scott Lange.
In late November 2022, while staying at the Best Western Plus Denver Tech Center Hotel, Lange encountered the snake. Lange says the toilet lid was closed, yet the snake was hanging about a foot out from the lid and still slithering to reach the floor!
According to hotel management, a staff member instantly phoned the police. The serpent was taken out and transported to safety, according to Greenwood Village police.
One comment reads, “Poor snake! I hope the little guy is okay. Shame on the person who dumped him.” Many people ask Scott why he didn’t provide a picture of the snake.
He simply states it wasn’t his first priority at the moment. Lange was given a different room by the hotel to stay in for the duration of his trip. The guest claimed that because the act caused him so much trouble and anguish, he expected a more thorough apology. How did the snake enter the plumbing system is a big mystery – but thankfully we’ve done the research for you!
Snakes in Toilets
Most houses have a number of stack pipes that ascend from the sewer and vent gas via the roof. These ventilation pipes discharge water from the bathtub, toilet, and dishwasher while being connected to your home’s drainage system.
Since the pipes are typically dry, creatures on the roof, such as mice and squirrels from the sewer, may climb up or down them and end up in your bathroom. Because the ventilation’s gooseneck pipes are S-shaped, an animal could become confused or turn around and accidentally enter the restroom.
Snakes might scale a tree and land on your roof before entering these pipes. They have the same swimming and breath-holding abilities as rats, but that is a different tale.
Snakes can fit inside small things and spaces. Windows, doorways, crawl spaces, attics, cellars, and basements provide additional entrance opportunities. Make sure the septic tank lid is shut if you have one. Additionally, plumbing leaks might allow pests into your house.
