A Queensland lady got rather a shock recently after coming across a huge snake huddled in her garden underneath a tree.

Local snake catcher Jaedon informed Yahoo News Australia it was a “friendly” Coastal Carpet Python, which he was contacted to help get rid of the reptile from her Sunnybank home in Brisbane — however he almost could not discover it.

The lady identified the animal — which can go beyond 3 metres long — and rapidly ran inside to call him. She was “too frightened” to review her garden up until it was gone, Jaedon revealed.

After getting in close, Jaedon ultimately identified the python, which he says is not hazardous to human beings. “It was huddled having nap,” he said.

“They are a constrictor. So they eliminate their victim by ambush and suffocate them,” he explained. “But they’re not hazardous to individuals. You can walk best past them and they’re not going to do anything, they’ll simply keep sleeping”.
