Wild sport dinner to characteristic elk, snake, extra

VALLEY CITY, Ohio – Gandalf’s Pub & Restaurant has scheduled a wild-game dinner.

Dinner is 7 p.m. Monday, March 4.

Menu

• Wild appetizer platter: Sampling of Buffalo frog legs, rabbit and snake corndogs, camel slider and deviled quail eggs.

• Elk and watercress salad: Marinated and seared elk on mattress of watercress with tomatoes and pickled crimson onions, Green Goddess dressing.

• Rabbit Bolognaise: Roasted rabbit in a hearty crimson sauce with recent orecchiette pasta, lime crème fraiche, goat cheese.

• Kangaroo Wellington: Seared kangaroo tenderloin, foie gras, mushroom duxelle, baked in puff pastry.

• Car-bomb cheesecake: Whiskey, Bailey’s and Stout, vanilla-bean ice cream and strawberries.

The dishes can be paired with beer from Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Cost is $135.
