Activist Opera Company, White Snake Projects has introduced the second annual “Let’s Celebrate!” its opera collection centered on range and intersectionality.
The program is comprised of 4 20-minute operas alongside conventional vacation works and tales that extra intently mirror the demographics of the Boston space. Audiences will take pleasure in “My Little Coqui” by Iván Enrique Rodriguez, “Jo Dooba So Paar” by Omar Najmi, Avik Sarkar’s “Kali Puja,” and “Tamale Dumpling” by Stephanie Chou. The chosen works are supposed to develop the that means of celebration to incorporate not solely vacation festivities, but in addition the intersection of identities: gender, race, tradition, LGBTQ, and/or faith.
Featured soloists are sopranos Erin Merceruio Nelson and Chelsea Baccay, mezzo-sopranos Megan Roth and Jeannette Lee, tenor Michael Gonzales, baritone Joel Clemens, and little one soloist Nadia Ruberg. The artistic workforce contains director Laine Rettmer and music director Tianhui Ng.
