A granny has actually explained having the shock of her life after mistakenly getting a 2 and a half foot snake in her garden. Gill Peters, from Truro, made the unexpected discovery previously today.

She said: “Three weeks ago I was being available in eviction and believed somebody tossed something in the garden. I left it and didn’t believe anything more of it.

“I was preparing yourself for bingo last Friday and saw it once again in the garden so believed I might also eliminate it. I chose it up and understood it was a snake so dropped it and ran in yelling.

“I sounded my child Shereen who said don’t be so ridiculous. I was almost in tears since I’m scared of snakes. My child and grand son created my granddaughter and said reveal us where the snake is.

“I said under there, and they saw it and said ‘oh my god I thought you were joking’.”

The family then made a series of calls to the cops, Newquay Zoo, the veterinarian and the RSPCA. Shereen got the snake and put it in a box that they had actually pierced and made air shaft so they snake might breathe prior to cello taping it shut.

They then put out a plea on Facebook which got an action from some snake professionals from Devon who were remaining close by. They got here and got the snake, which they thought to be a cornsnake and took it away to safety.

Gill included: “They thought it was a cornsnake as they can grow ever so big. But who and where did it come from? Someone in Festival Gardens said they saw it six or seven weeks ago. It must have been feeding on rats down by the river.”
