GUM – AKA Jay Watson (Tame Impala, Pond) – and Ambrose Kenny-Smith (King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, The Murlocs) collaborate to let loose the A/B-side Single “Minor Setback’ / ‘Old Transistor Radio”.
The tracks were produced by GUM in between stints in Tame Impala and Pond, and follow his 5 well-known solo albums – consisting of 2020’s Out In The World. Kenny-Smith plays harmonica and type in the notorious King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard who launched 5 albums in 2015 – consisting of 3 in the very same month.
Accompanying the release is a mind-bending video for “Minor Setback” which was directed by Jacob Armstrong who formerly dealt with “Ancients” for GUM.
Speaking on the track, GUM shares: “I make a great deal of music, however frequently don’t have the voice or the steez to put a vocal on specific pieces of music. I’ve understood Ambrose for ten years approximately now and I’ve constantly liked his voice, a mix of garage rock and soulfulness. Ambrose Kenny-Smith includes: “When GUM struck me approximately sing on a couple of tracks of his I was incredibly fired up!
