ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.— Who the shell would do something like this?
2 young Galapagos tortoises were taken from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park on Nov. 30, the zoo stated.
The threatened types were captive-born at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm in 2017. They belong to a captive breeding program and need unique diet plans and supplements, according to the zoo.
” If somebody you understand got back with a big black tortoise today, it was not bought lawfully,” the zoo stated in a post on Facebook. “This types is NOT offered in the family pet trade and they will get to be 600lbs!”
The post went on to state that the tortoises can not remain outdoors throughout cooler nights.
The Alligator Farm stated they can quickly be recognized by a vet with their special microchips.
” We are presently arranging through hours of video security and are positive we will have images to supply the general public quickly.”
